Session One: Conservative TMD  management for the busy practitioner

TMD is one of the most misunderstood elements in dentistry, but it is one that practitioners encounter routinely. This course aims to give a brief overview of the common causes of TMJ and assist practitioners in diagnosis. We will also discuss the use of splint therapy in addressing the most common symptoms of TMD. CE credited course.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand common causes of TMD
  • Perform a TMD exam and imaging screening
  • Understand multiple splint designs
  • Learn to use and balance a tripod splint
